The Origins of Email and Its Development
The origins of email date back to the 1960s, when messages were sent between computers on ARPANET, the primary computer network system developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. It was the first electronic message sent in history.
During the 1970s and 1980s, email continued to evolve. Standards and protocols for sending messages, such as SMTP, POP, and concept presentation, were defined. The "email address" in the form we are familiar with today allows users to communicate with each other on a large scale.

The popularity of email skyrocketed in the 1990s as the Internet spread throughout the world. Public email providers such as Hotmail, founded in 1996, and Yahoo Mail, in 1997, began offering free email services, making it easier for people to sign up for email. Therefore, it is considered an important turning point that makes email become the main communication channel in both daily life and business.
Nowadays, although there are new forms of social media and chatting applications, a lot has happened, but email is still an important communication tool and plays a huge role, especially in business and organizational circles. It is official, stable, safe, and suitable for communications that require privacy. Additionally, the entry of Gmail by Google in 2004 has made the email service more modern and easier to use, resulting in increased popularity of email.
In the future, email is expected to continue playing an important role in the digital world. However, it will increasingly integrate with new technologies such as blockchain to enhance security and transparency, as well as AI systems and big data analytics. These advancements aim to assist in managing and searching emails more efficiently.
Email may also be integrated with other forms of communication platforms, such as chat apps or video conferencing systems. To be a fully integrated communications center, despite constant changes, email will remain one of the primary communication tools of the digital world.

Another trend is the growth of business and corporate email with more modern security and email management systems. This meets the needs for security, safety, and work efficiency. As a result, corporate email platforms are likely to increase in popularity.
Email has come a long way since its earliest beginnings. Through rapid growth in the Internet era, it has become a mainstream communication tool that everyone must use. In the future, despite new communication innovations, email will remain and will be integrated with those technologies to continue improving the efficiency, safety, and convenience of humanity's communications.
